When Fusion Padawans meet CEA-IRFM

The M2 students from the French Fédération for plasma and fusion sciences arrived last week from Université de Lorraine, Aix-Marseille Université, Université Pierre et Marie Curie and Université Paris-Sud for a series of lectures and seminars given by IRFM, AMU and ITER physicists. They are joined this week by the M2 students of the Fusion EP programme (Université de Lorraine, AMU, Stuttgart University, Ghent University and Complutense and Carlos III Universities in Madrid) to work in our laboratories for two weeks. The thirty-six students are discovering a lower hybrid waveguide, infrared thermography, plasma facing component metrology and other activities which are part of our everyday life and might some day become theirs. Thanks to the important involvement of the IRFM staff, the students receive a high quality supervision which they enjoy a lot.

This stay at IRFM is the last step before their master thesis, then the beginning of their PhD or of their professional career. We thus do our best for making it as useful as enjoyable!
