Japanese ITER-like divertor components ready for the first WEST campaign
Three divertor components procured by the ITER Japanese Domestic Agency arrived at Cadarache on October the 18th. These Tungsten monoblock Plasma Facing Units (PFU) will be exposed to tokamak plasmas during the first WEST campaign. Before being mounted on the test sector together with ITER-like PFU procured by ASIPP in China, they have been subjected to a reception procedure based on infrared thermography test at IRFM and high heat flux test at Garching.

IRFM management inside WEST!
The IRFM management entered inside WEST vaccum vessel to have a better apprehension of the work progress... and its complexity! Laurent Gargiulo, head of assembly operations, organized on April 28, a visit for the whole management staff of the Magnetic Fusion Research Institute to show them how the upper divertor coil winding had to be built, inside the restricted space of the vacuum chamber.
